This year, we invite back all 5 cohorts of faculty who have been recognized as ACUE Distinguished Teaching Scholars to award them a medallion, as well as to celebrate our newest Scholars with their certificate and pinning. We will also recognize the faculty and graduate students who completed the Fostering a Culture of Belonging microcredential during the 2023-2024 academic year with their certificate. Dr. Rebeca Herrero Sáenz is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Molloy University. Born and raised in Madrid (Spain), she holds a licenciatura (BA) in Sociology from Complutense University of Madrid. She also holds an MA in Media, Culture and Communication from New York University, and a PhD in Sociology from the University at Albany (SUNY). Laurie Hallick is an instructional designer at Molloy University in Rockville Centre, NY, where she collaborates with faculty members to develop high-quality online courses. Laurie assists faculty in creating engaging learning experiences for students, ensuring that the online courses offered by the university are not only informative but also structured to promote student success. Applying the Quality Matters Rubric

The Quality Matters (QM) Rubric identifies the characteristics of high-quality online courses that promote engagement and support student learning, based on an extensive body of research on online learning. In this day-long workshop, you will learn about the QM Rubric and its use in reviewing the design of online and blended courses by discussing the standards and conducting a partial course review. It is intended for a broad audience, including but not limited to faculty, instructors, instructional designers, and administrators who wish to understand more about the QM process and perhaps become QM Peer Reviewers.
